Great Website

I get a quarterly newsletter in my email and is always very informative.
LATEST EMAIL NEWSLETTER
Welcome to the latest update newsletter from the team at ACE with yet more interesting info on current proposed legislation.
First up we have received the results of the BIVA Consultation and it’s pretty much as we expected with ours, and many others, input re the excessive
price rise for BIVA over SVA being ignored. As many parts of VOSA are being privatised, despite Government assurances to the contrary, it is obvious
that they will need to be profitable.
They seem to be happy enough that post-registration modifications are not a huge issue, at least while there is no proof to that effect, which brings
a sigh of relief from the team here. However, you will note that the EU is looking at restrictions on aftermarket tuning chips in the name of ‘green’.
Also tie this into our other article re another DfT open Consultation and note their interest as to the effect that tyre under inflation can have on
Co2 emissions. This in turn leads to our concerns on where this may lead if not watched closely, a possible TUV style list of tyre sizing that are
acceptable on any given vehicle to ensure Co2 specs for that age of vehicle are not compromised.
As we have always said we don’t expect any Government to come out with a total ban on car modifying at a single stroke but rather to slowly enact
legislation that simply makes it more and more difficult.
Don’t forget, spread the word, we can only fight any restrictive legislation by making people aware.
Enjoy your vehicle, whatever you drive.
