problem with gas cooker

My gas hob cooker is one of these Click

And the gas hob keeps putting its self out. It hold a flame for about 20 seconds then it goes out, does the old click click click and relights.
I also notice that when you turn on another ring it takes 'power' away from the one you lit first.

It definately seems like the pressure is not high enough.

The boiler is still working fine so im assuming the mains pressure is ok?

Does anyone know if these cookers are likely to have a pressure regulator in them and can they go faulty / be cleaned etc etc?

NOTE.... the misses relayed all this info to me whilst SHE was cooking the tea..............Honest!

does it have a flame detector? Ie a second spike beside the sparker. Also ie, does the gas keep coming after the flame goes out?

I dont believe they do have pressure regs, but im no gas man

I suspect it has got wet when a pan overflowed.

Where is the embarressed icon when you need it!

my misses had decided in her wisdom to hang the recycling bag on the gas shut off valve!

It was running half shut hence little or no
pressure

I guess there was just engough for the boiler to carry on working but when extra gas was required by the hob it didnt have enough oomph.

Glad it was easily sorted.

I shold have left it a while to see what really techincal replies i got and see if anyone mentioned checking the supply tap pmsl.

Happy days

Bit like the classic computer support desk question - "Is it turned on?"
