NO. The ending of the Italian Job is they dangle there, no more story, no ifs no buts. Its left open for a reason.

Its like explaining a joke. If you have to then its not funny. Same with the IJ, its left as it is for a reason. And I like it for that reason.

Its like if the Americans had made the Italian Job then the 'heros' would have beat the bad guys. Thats why we should not let yet the Yanks remake it.

(PS thats a joke, but if I explain it then its not funny)

They have remade it.
And there's a sequel.

Anyway, that solution is silly. You don't need to start mucking around with petrol tanks or breaking windows. Caine goes to the drivers end of the bus (IE other end of fulcrum). He can get off without upsetting the balance (on the basis that it was balanced with him on the "bad" side of the pivot point). Fill up cab with rocks. Job done.

Calm down dear, its only a movie. They are all covered by e-sure....... so presumable took out the extra breakdown cover with 30 min call out, got a rope fastened to front of coach, pulled it back onto road and all lived very happily indeed.

Personally i would have given the driver a slap before they got to the dangly stage. Bloody muppet.

If he was so clever, why didn't he kick the arse of his mechanic when he was playing with the diff under the BACK of the Mini??

Anyway, as previously said, it wouldn't have taken a genius to get the gold off the bus....
