Snows falling - summer hols recommendations needed
So we want to go to the non-EU Med this summer, anybody got any recommendations for a nice area in Turkey? Somewhere with a bit of nite life but not
too chavvy, good beach and food etc..... and cheap!
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

Up in the hills surrounding Marmaris. If bright pinkk men with beer guts, all ordering chips and Stella is your thing, then stay in Marmaris itself
(or any of the larger Turkish beach destinations), but if you prefer to see a bit more of the country, and food etc, then I can thoroughly recommend
this area. It took us maybe 15 minutes to drive into Marmaris in our hired jeep.... A great adventure!
Other area worth looking at is Kemer - very nice area, slightly off the mainstream toursit trail.

have a look at www.goldtrail.co.uk
we are going with them for the second time as they were brilliant last time. We are going 5* all inclusive for a week to Icmeler (5km from Marmaris
but very much quieter - nice beach, restaurants etc.) in May and it's only costing us £300 each!
Had enough of this dictatorship known as LCB. Gone elsewhere, not coming back. Kiss my ass ChrisW.

I'll have a look at that, we've got to go in August so it will be a lot more money then.... is Icmeler nice then?

Thanks for that too Sam. I'm looking for a honeymoon in August and site looks perfect! First place that's within our crappy budget too!

I know you said Med' but how about Bulgaria?
I went there in 2004. The weather is fantastic and (in 2004 atleast) it was really cheap.
Black Sea coast would be my choice I think.
Cheers,
James

Gozo gets my vote.
went last year, lovely weather, great people, mental driving, lots of history, tonnes of seafood, no chavs, and not very expensive!!

I know where I'm going for my holls this year.
Cap d'Agde.....
It may not be outside the Eurozone.
But at least I don't have to worry what clothes I need to take with me.
Can travel light in the 7....lol

Thanks for the input chaps - think Gozo will be a little quiet for 2 teenagers, and Bulgaria is about the same price as Turkey so we're going
with Turkey
