Why not baxi out of interest? I'm getting a new boiler soon too, I had looked at them but have no experience of them myself. I was pretty much
decided on vaillant, are they any good?

vaillant and worcester bosch are the only two i will fit. a lot of the cheaper boilers offer long warranties, which is great until you have a problem
and they cant come for a week then try to wriggle out of it. i know for a fact that both worcester and vailliant service vans have a full stock on
board. for an extra bit of cash its not worth the future hassle with cheap rubbish.
and never fit a baxi fit one when the condensors came out about 15 years ago, and baxi paid me to swap the whole boiler three times in as many years
because heat exchangers were been eaten by the condensate. ended up getting a full refund for the customer and fitting a worcester which is still
trouble free even now. you pays your money you takes your chance. one final though would you fit a cam in your engine knowing it would break a lot
easier than a slightly more expensive one.

I have a baxi - everything works just fine apart from the hot water pre-heat, which goes wrong about once a year.
I used to have a multi-point water heater that worked well, but this boiler is just a PITA - the pre-heat's noisy, sometimes it tries to boil
the water, and quite often we turn it off at night so we can get some sleep! (it's in a cupboard on the landing).
Those two names will be noted, ready for the time when this boiler meets the great scrapheap in the sky...

Cheers Bob,
Its a combi.
I have 6 radiators but would probably like one to run 8 so i could add a couple more if i need to.
No shower at present but its something we are considering so it would be nice to be able to do it.
1 bathroom
Cheers

i have a glo-worm fitted just before xmas, along with pretty much a whole new system ££chaching££
the boiler is great, its just a shame the company who fitted it were a bunch of numptys;still trying to sort out some problems now; one being that the
flu exit in the roof isnt water tight!!

you need a minimum of 30kw to run that system, although if you want to add a decent shower in the future you would be better going for a 37kw cdi
worcester bosch. a little more money but well worth it. when selecting a boiler the flow rate on the hot water is more important than actual input.
you also need to look at the 35/40 degree rise figures not the 30 degree rise that a lot of the manufacturers quote, beleive me it makes a big
difference. you will also need to fit thermostatic rad valves and a minimum of a room stat or even better a programmable room stat. if you search of
the worcester web site they have registered insatllers, we can offer a five year warranty for no more money than if joe plumber does the job. any
questions just ask.

I had a baxi in old house. Was great for 2 - 3 years then a strange fault that turned out to be a few quid rubber diaphragm. I bet not all of the
Baxi's ever fitted have problems but its strange that they always get mentioned.
Next house got a Vaillant. As Bob says - i didnt get a choice, boiler man would only fit Vaillants.
Im told there are some other makes that come recommended too.
