OT: Ford Galaxy Reversing Light Switch

2.3 Petrol 1998 Manual Galaxy;

The reversing light switch seems to be playing funny buggers - anyone changed one or know about the linkage?

The light only seems to illuminate when you hold the gear lever back against the stop.
