Not a prude, but...

Folks,

Can you be more discrete about nude/rude/lewd photos? I often open topics in the office, and some recent pictures should be for home use only! I don't object to the content, but some in my office might, especially my boss.

If you do have a good photo, post a clear warning in the topic header (so I don't open it) or use a link to somewhere else, or similar techniques.

Ta very much

David

No - but he is sensitive to the fact that we often have customers and clients wandering around our open-plan office at random times.

He may also think that I'm accessing porno sites, which is also Not A Good Thing, career-wise.

Workplace Surfing

After frequent lunchtime visits to both TOL and Locostbuilders sites, (when I was still working), the Network Administrator eventually barred access to them.
Apparently, someone was regularly accessing these sites ..........!!!!
And not just me. Objections were also raised due to the use of laserjet colour printers, for "non-work" subjects.
So, DJ & others, be very careful out there!!

I'm lucky that my organisation is only small, so they don't get stressed about people browsing, as long as the sites aren't dodgy and I do it at an appropriate time.

They don't do any monitoring, apart from the Mk 1 eyeball when walking about...

I guess I luck, I'm the bloke that does the site bans (waiting for the large rocks to hurled my way ), so I made sure this one was never logged.

It is possible to avoid the logging, but it would un ethical to discuss that

Good grief - it must be Friday pm...

I just read Viper's post as "what's the F for?" and thought "there's no F in DrEagle" !

Mind you, that doesn't read too well - I can see that there IS an F in DrEagle 'cos he's just F in posted!

1. why not? because there is already enough porn out there for the average human consumption.

2 .to save someones job while nedding at work? you deserve to get the sack if you are not working when you are supposed to be.

3. I f you want to look at porn, go look at porn, a porn section would take up space that could be used for something a lot more constructive and helpfull.

Plus if there was such a section most company filters would probably block the whole site I expect.

Which cheek? !

Actually..... I too agree that us posters should post a "link" to the 'offensive' material rather than the actual aforementioned material. If it in fact gives our poor spied-upon friends a fighting chance to keep the site from being banned at work.

Yeah but Steve... You won't even show a picture of your missus even fully clothed just in case by some miracle I end up in Phoenix and she realises I'm a far better bet than you...

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!
