Bad times indeed!
Keep your head down and don't give them any reason to be on the chop list!
Good luck!

Nick my sympathy. I'm currently just at the end of a 2 month consultation process. Company has approx 800 employees and 70 odd have to go.
I'm in the shortlisted pool so I appreciate what you're going through.
all the best

Not good our way ........2500 are to go.
We went from 12 to 6 and they are still turning the screws on.

There are worse odds.
I was told 4 of us had to go.
Err.... There are only 4 of us work there.

Yep I am in the same boat. Been out of work now for 4 weeks after working for my last company for 12 years...
Dont ever blame yourself it is the job that is redundant not the individual.

at least they've got the balls to make people redundant. my place is just suspending and sacking people for stupid little things, which
apparently count as gross misconduct. which is bollocks. getting rid of folk without giving them a penny for their trouble
and this is apparenty a huge international respectable company...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Thanks for the words of support and my heartfelt support returned to all in the same boat.
Managed not to think about imuch over the weekend - 3yr old and twin 1yr olds provide enough distraction
Typing on a work laptop connected via work supplied internet connection so if I don't post for a while you'll know why

Best of luck to you whatever happens. This isn't a fun time for most of us right now. Hopefully it all will go away soon.

Well.....still here for the time being!
9 went in total, some obvious, some not, all gutted and a very low feeling all round. The management were clearly struggling on a personal level to
carry out the necessary, but it has to be said were very professional throughout.
Not much to do but keep working now

Good news Nick.
Your employers sound like a decent bunch, even if they've had to let people go.
I hope your company makes it through this recession.
