More info on speed limit cut

More detail behind the speed limit cut.

Looks like the plans include fitted a shed load of average speed cameras too, to record speeds over distances of up to 6 miles!

Interestingly the RAC and AA are also against a blanket speed limit reduction....

Lets hope the government actually listen to the motorists for a change and decide to drop it...

Will the last one out, please turn off the light?

signed and posted on other forums - I think others should too.

Think about it, race tracks closing (croft has been crippled in the last few weeks by law suit against "noise" ) country roads monitored by average speed cameras - we all work our asses off to build sports cars - AND NOW CANT USE THEM ANYWHERE!

its madness. Dont they realise that 'speeding drivers' are already breaking the current limit so obviously arent bothered about the law and will speed anyway. This foolhardy plan will simply make them encounter more slow drivers to overtake, with a proportiaonally higher risk of a miscalculation.

Personally, I think Gordon Brown must be trying to get in the record books by losing a general election by the biggest margin.

Its time politicians were taught a lesson: They're not there to rule us but represent us. They're there on our behalf to run the country for us in the way that we wish. When they go to far like this, they need to be shown that they're wrong. What can be done, legally, to thwart this plan? I'm not suggesting vandalism or illegal civil disobediance.

the answer is simple, yet difficult to execute.

we should ALL use public transport for a day. it would be absolute chaos.

edit to say: everyone in UK, i dont think on everyone on LCB would be enough...
