Any scooter experts?
I have a 2000 X reg Peugeot Speedfight with a crap 100cc 2 stroke.. its got about 0.5 bhp
Will the GY6 150cc 4 stroke currently in most Chinese scooters bolt in?
I fancy doing a bit of tuning on the 4 stroke engine, I've got a throttle body off a TL1000
Anyone know about these things??

Im not sure that it will bolt strait on, but if you take enough of the donor bike, then theres no reason why it cant shoe horn in!
How hard can it be?

My daughter is good on her scooter but that is only 1 leg drive. She is only 4 too so probs doesnt know what cc means. I will ask her though if you
want me to?
Seeing as you have built cars before i bet the scooter will be easy. Surprised you arent thinking of fitting a car engine to it

You don't need to swap engines, 2 strokes can be imense fun. Its easy to get 50mph out of a 50cc, with enough acceleration to lift the front
wheel.
Remove head, remove barrel, attack ehaust ports with dremel. Widen then a bit, lift the top about a 1mm. skim about 1mm off the top of the barrel. (or
buy a race barrel kit which gives the same sort of geometry) bolt it back together with lighter rollers, race adjustable rear clutch, race exhaust.
Easy 50mph, from a 50cc, so should be a lot more from your 100cc.
Had a lot of fun racing some 50cc mopeds the last few years, one was a pug trekker with the same engine as the 50cc speedfight. So cheap and easy to
tune up to embarrass the local 16 year olds.

Scooter engines, well the whole rear end, are usually held on with 1 big bolt plus the springs and dampers. You could probably make it fit,
especially if you're prepared to weld up an adapter. There are several problems, you might end up lengthening the wheelbase, you may have
nowhere to bolt on the suspension and Chinese engines are not known for their high power output. Or quality. You might end up worse off.
Why not sell the speed fight and buy a good scooter?

I just bought a new Fred Perry polo shirt the other day, and a super slim pair of dark purple trousers from them too, keeping the dream alive!!
BTW - got tickets for the Specials in Brixton so I'll somewhere to wear them
