size of the ports is the main difference as I saw it. Also the injection head "flows" better apparently.

is there a considerable difference in the port sizes? would a ported carb head be just as efficient as an injection head?

better port design as standard - but I think a well ported carb'd head is just as good as a well ported EFI head

some people seem to think that the power increase between the std. EFI and carb'd engines is entirely due to the head (not the EFI itself)

some later ones have hard valve seats from the factory (I think the haynes books tell you which are unleaded - there is a code stamped on somewhere)

visualy EFI heads have 'egg shapped' inlets:

I could be wrong but doesn't the injection heads have slightly bigger valves?

As I understand it , a ported carb head is better because there is metal to be removed where the injection head is already too big .
