employment holidays
hi everyone.
just wanting some input from those of you who are employed. Wondering if bank holidays and good friday etc are taken out of your yearly holiday
allowance or if you get them in addition to the nominal days off? Reason being i have enough work on to work both days and would rather treat the
employees like everyone else gets treated if they ask to take them off this easter.
Cheers!

Bank holidays are on top of your annual holidays Joel. We used to get double time if we worked them and a day off in lieu.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

The days are part of your (typically 8) statutory days paid holiday in addition to your annual leave - unless you waivered the right to take them in
your T and C of employment. you should be taking them.
Consult your T and C of Employment.

I work for a large national company.
I get 25 days holiday + 7 (or is it 8 - how ever many their are in the calendar) bank holidays a year. If i work a bank holiday I get the time back.
The rate i get it back is a bone of contention as its not agreed. For most people working a bank holiday it tends to count as 2 days holiday in lieu.
Some get 3 I think i'd get 1.5 but wouldn't be surprised if I just got the time back.

I get.
32 annual.
Statutory holidays on top of that.
9 full flexi days on top of that if I have the time built up.
Unlimited half flexi days.
It's nuts actually. Too much IMHO.

Legally the 8 national holiday days are not in addition to your legal minimum leave. If you get them in addition it's because thats your
employers policy same as if you get more than the minimum leave.

That's the flipside of all of those holidays.
I'm not really complaining as such, but let's say that this shoestring is a short one.
I solemnly promise that it will be finished soon.

You'd moan if you had too many holidays! I'd always prefer too much work to too little
