5 ltr chevy engine, what 7 type kit will it fit
How do, not even got the Fury on the road yet, waiting for DVLA now.
Ive been given the option that if i can get the chevy engine running i can have it !, just thinking aloud, what kit would it fit ?, 7 type
prefered.
How heavy are these engines, its a cast block and would a type 9 box fit?.

You would need something bigger like a DAX RUSH sort of size IMHO.
I bet that lump would sound AWESOME.

The chevy engines have been fitted in a westfield.
Go to wscc and search for barry ashcroft.

It would blow a type 9 in seconds. You need a conversion plate from someone like AK to mate to a Getrag box (found in 7 series Jags, detachable bell
housing type).
Then get a steel bell housing from Real Steel and a flywheel, clutch etc.
The best place for that engine would be in a Cobra (better if it was a 350 rather than 305) or a scrap yard.

I'd plenty of extra bracing too with so much torque. Might end up an undrivable mess that just wants to break away all the time and get you in
trouble. A straight line rocket that trys to kill you in the corners

Dax rush would be your best bet for a se7en, but even the rush isnt designed for something quite that big, the smaller the engine the better (see -
success of BECs)
I'd be inclined to look at the Dax Tojiero (sp?) its a cobra replica and really designed for a big lump. In fact im fairly sure chevys get put
in them quite regularly.

looks blooming awsome that, but i think i might give it a miss, looks heavy too, ive done 2 becs now and was just a thought, the welding and
fabrication is not a problem for me.
Ive also done a bec to cec conversion for a member off here (sabb turbo) so im no novice.
Might try getting it running though :

That Leugo was on display at Stoneleigh last year and was a beast.
I owned a Westy with a Rover 4.6 and it was dangerous. Back wheels kept losing traction.
Check the chevy engine block number, there are some repro blocks from Mexico which copied a popular block number. Whereas yours sounds genuine old the
MOT centers and SVA have to presume it is new.
Loads of info on this on the Cobra site.
Pilgrim do the cheapest parts , adaptors etc for using cheap boxes. They are now trading again.
There is an excellent book by David Visard on how to rebuild a stock Chevy smallblock, it would be invaluable.
Then I would sell it to a Cobra builder and use the money to buy a Hayabusa!

Hi Had a 350ci (5.7l) chevy in a Range Rover.
Not a light engine.
Can't beet the soiund.
But at 10mpg it had to go.
plus when I rebuilt mine parts were cheap as chips.
7's are realy all about light weight.
Cobra's are good for chevy's

I would think about putting it in another car, an old Capri, old TVR, Datsun 240z etc etc something a bit heavier that needed a V8 when launched....
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

Stick it in a Locost and ignore comments about Locosts having to be light, they can be whatever you want them to be; that's why you build it
rather than buy it in a box.
