Suitable oil level for a dry sump system?
I've got a car in, Vauxhall red top with dry sump kit. The oil level in the swirl pot reservoir is about half full. I reckon that's OK.
Any one else have an opinion?

why only half? the oil doesn't expand like the coolant so why not have it almost full?

Oil to just below the top baffle when running is what the caterham guys seem to use...

Likewise, I was advised to have the oil level up to just under the top baffle.

Oil level needs checking with the engine running OR straight after switching the engine off
(some folks have made a piece of wire that they use to 'Dip' the tank)
Halfway up the 'Tall Type' SBD/PACE Tank is about right
Problem with the Baffle checking idea is that *if* your using the SBD/PACE 'Tall' tank it doesn't have a baffle
(Use a SBD/PACE Dry sump system on mine and it's a nice piece of kit)
