Vauxhall clutch cable ID ?

The clutch cable on my SAAB GM900 needs replacing, I've obtained an astra
clutch pedal and cable [1] and bought a new cable from ebay.

The new cable has the wrong end, it was sold as an astra cable, but without
the "hook" it obviously doesn't fit, it's identical apart from the end.

The new cable is an original GM one and has the part number 90522457.

Can anyone ID it from the number please ?

Have I just been unlucky and bought the wrong one, or did Astras only come
with the hook on the pedal end and this cable is for something else ?

Ta chaps (and chapesses)

[1] With it being a Vectra in a frock, instead of replacing the expensive,
badly designed, auto-adjusting SAAB cable an Astra pedal and cable can be
used, allegedly

so why did you not just get a SAAB cable then? a quick search and here's one...

linky

bit pricey but thats SAAB's for you, I had an old 900 with the curved screen, got most of the bits from the breakers as the SAAB dealer was so expensive

'Cos they cost £45 and last a few thousand miles before the auto-adjuster goes, then you're left with a pedal you need to press to the floor and a reverse that crunches (just like I have now)

You need to remove the pedal to change the cable, so an astra cable for £8 is a decent replacement

It's a "bangernomics" car too, so £8 for a cable is a LOT more attractive than £45

£400 it cost me, a lot of metal is on the market at the mo' for very little money, it sailed through the MOT yesterday, I have £530 invested in it.

hmm my old 900 was a troublesome car with some strange engineering ideas. Very strong but oddly, considering where its make, dreadful handling in the snow!

Read 92 times and no-one can tell me whether they've seen an Astra clutch cable with no "hook" on it ?

Well, I'm suprised, especially as how the strangest and most "off the wall" questions seem to be answered within minutes on here.

I'll just assume that no-one's seen an Astra clutch cable with a plain nipple on the pedal end then
