Some big servicing bills here!
I don't often cross post to Pistonheads, but thought that this thread was interesting:-
Servicing Costs
Page 9, owner of a Big VW Beetle says;-
"1st bug service 13k + 24k for 4 new tyres."
Now that is a big bill.
(Admittedly the big beetle is a Veyron...........)

Why do I get the impression that those people with crazy cars (Bugatti, Zonda etc, and some TVRs) get taken for a ride on servicing...
I mean seriously.... It cant be THAT much more complicated than a standard golf!!! Changing the oil etc cant be that much more.......

I'm not sure....
changing the spark plugs on a Bently continental GT involves dropping the engine, as there's not room to get the plugs out any other way......

Similar sitaution on Talbot Sambas IIRC because they put the Pug based engine in so badly you couldn't get to the plugs.
IMHO that comes down to one thing and one thing only....
CRAP DESIGN
...pue and simple.
I mean to say, how much does a Bentley GT cost £100k plus? And they can't even design the thing properly.
I recently had the chance to look over a 3 yr old DB9 very closely and I have to say it was somewhat disapointing really.
In the engine bay for example, the screw holding part of the engine cover on were already fully corroded brown lumps which would round off nicely when
you went to undo them - can they not afford to use better quality (stainless) fixings....?
The ignition key was the same as an old Ford Transit not even as nice as what you get with a bog basic Golf or Audi these days.
All said thouhg it is still an awesome car, it's just the little detail things that I think would start to niggle me as an owner.
