Why is there a trial to prove if they are guilty?

Why do I have to make the tools to finish the job? More time then money.

Because we live in a proper country that believes in justice... not a banana republic!

Justice has to be seen to be done.

Where would you draw the line at having a trial/jury?

If you had been arrested for something you hadn't done I suspect you'd be very pleased to have 12 of your peers "good men and true" to decide whether you were guilty or not.

A jury trial is a fundamental right that we've had here since about 1200AD. It's one of the better things about this country!

Cheers,
James

Having been a juror on 2 cases, I can tell you my faith in the system is no so strong that I'd be upset if it went. I certainly wouldn't want to go in front of a jury.

You'd rather have some kind of Judge Dred justice system?

Are they the only two options?

Well there is the magistrates court, but that's just Judge Dredd without the guns and silly costumes.

Of course there's also the 'he's a witch, burn him' mob 'justice' approach as promoted by the news of the world.

My comments are because the man has pleaded guilty to cruelty but not Manslaughter/murder, and in this day and age can not understand how a partner can stand by and watch it happen without even if not in charge and do nothing, without there being guilt! There has been no other parties involved. Or is this a case of lets blame the system because others did not stop them.

Yes I have also been on jury service, we all have our views and are all entitled to them.
