Depends on the kit. I believe the engine is too tall to fit in a seven style car

I don't think the engine is any bigger than the Pug 205 engine.... has anyone used one of them ???

Mi16 engine will go in a 205

If you do a search I think there is a problem with oil surge when used Rwd.

The bell housing to go to a t9 turns up on ebay every now and again.

I dont think they are any taller or canted over any more than a Bmw engine and people are using them ?

similar dimensions to the OHC pug engine but alloy and 160bhp straight away.

TBH they look like a better choice than my redtop!

(i know they fit in a 205, thats my next project )

A perrenial question on here Craig and one of my first questions way back in 2002 when I was member no. 99

The general answer is yes it could be made to fit, but it would be a ball ache to do so.

Mating to a suitable g/box isn't easy although bell housings can be modified to suit.

Oil surge can be an issue in RWD configuration, but then it can also be an issue in standard FWD configuration when used very hard. Dry sumping or clever baffling could resolve this though.

The angle of dangle means the exhaust manifold and steering column try to occupy the same space. Again solvable, but considerable hassle.

At the end of the day a zetec install is much simpler and therefore probably cheaper. Similar power is easily extracted too.

Love to see someone do it all the same

used to use a bx engine in my 205 rally car, early ones were same bloack as 1.9gti but with a 16v head, went really well, a mi16 engine is heavier differences in block etc i'm not sure but it was more powerful
