Tin Top Problem - Windows opened themselves?
I've got an '07 plate Seat Leon. Parked it up last night about 8pm. It was raining when we got back home so I'm sure all the
windows were wound up. Locked it / set the alarm as usual and came inside.
Got up this morning to find both front windows wound fully down (backs are manual).
I'm not sure when they wound themselves down, but it rained really heavily last night and the seats / interior was dry?
The alarm hadn't triggered either (has a volumetric thingy as well as door switches).

As it had been raining I'd take an educated guess that you could have a water leak and have got moisture in the body control unit.
Seeing as its an 07 car I'd book it in to the dealers and have it looked at under waranty. Its only going to get worse.

Had a slightly simular thing on a mondeo, just seemed to open all the windows and sunroof for no reason, usually over night and once when it was
snowing (yes a white damp interior).
Never did find out why it did it but i put it down to the button on the remote key, i figured that i must have managed to press and hold the open
button in my pocket when i put my phone in my pocket and it held the button down which is how you can open all the windows off the key, dont know if
this is possible for your seat too, just a thought.

It must be the nut behind the wheel!
If you hold the unlock button down it unlocks the car, then opens the windows.
But it takes about 10 seconds, so I must have sat down or had something in my pocket......

I had a fault to fix on a car (although I can't remember what the car was!!) where each time you unlocked the car via the remote fob, the hazard
lights came on and the power windows opened. And the car refused to start! It was the inertia switch that had somehow operated (whilst parked!).

IIRC The Galaxy /Sharon/ Alhambra had similar problems due to water getting into the ECU due to blocked bulkhead drains . Could be a similar problem?

Hi MArk,
Holding down the open door button - winds down all my windows (electric front and back on mine )
Holding the button to lock - winds them all up and the wing mirrors fold in.
It's probably you that inadvertently held the button!

This is the typical VAG lock barrel problem, my Mk4 Golf has just done the same thing. Inside the barrel there is a small alloy ring with two little
tags which break off. This means the sensors are not fully actuated. This 5p piece of ally will cost you over £50 to replace as you have to buy the
whole assembly 1U0 837 168A for the golf but the price varies for different models (strangely).
There is a technique if fitting the part, I will take some pickies when I do mine.
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

I remember that if you make a make a complaint under warranty about something going wrong, if you didn't had it repaired and it did it again and
the warranty expired, you can still have it repaired under warranty.
