He says he bought it 3 years ago, 2009 - 3 = 2006.

It could be that his camera is not set correctly, or that they are photo's taken by the previous owner.
It looks like a Cobretti Viper to me. He probably has misread it to end up with Corvette.
It looks ok to me.
