Help with clutch pedal on a seat leon
Hi guys
I need a little help, my leon cupra is having some fun with me at the mo and has decided to throw a strop and not let me drive it
I put my foot on the clutch and it went bang and went straight too the floor and now wont come back up.
I belive there is a bit of plastic that needs to be replaced but does anybody have a guide on how to do it?
Many thanks
Tommy

I'm sure Gav had this problem with his old Seat, though it may possibly have been the brake pedal. Certainly though I was speaking to a man at
work last year with a new VAG car and this very same thing had happened to him. Seems a common problem. Maybe search on the Seat forums?
Quick Google
reveals a possible clutch cylinder problem or pivot pin.

VW group are poo at making clutch pedals that work...
Both my polo and my sisters transporter have both had to be taken appart and re-welded where the pedal bracket has sheared off the backing plate...
In both cases the metal was way to thin and was under shear with no bracing....
Some designer has cocked up big time...
a pair of new plates welded in helped!!
Im not sure if the leon suffers the same problem, but can you take off the lower dash trim pannel and see if anything has snapped?

Yeah i had this, give it a real good pull and it will come back up.
The ball at the end of the clutch arm fits into a little plastic cavity that sits into the rear of the pedal, which was held in by a tiny bit of
folded metal which is why mine failed.
What happens is, is the clutch arm pops out when it reaches the top and then next time you press it, the arm gets wedged down the side of the
pedal.
Mine bent the clutch arm a little too but i managed to straighten it out and get the ball back into the cavity and welded a better retainer over the
top of the old one.
The plastic bit that broke was the stop for when it the pedal comes back, luckily there is a small plate with a hole in line with the top of the
pedal, so i just put a bolt through this with 2 nuts and adjusted it to get the resting height of the pedal level with the brake.
