Both very good artists but I prefer Gilmours guitar style. IMHO DG is also the better songwriter
although Waters has done some fantastic stuff. Pros and Cons is superb but in general his stuff
is a bit......dark and morose.....
I do have a gripe mith Mr G too that his solo stuff is a bit samey.
Tough call though.
Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.................Douglas Adams.

Gilmour for me but I loved it when the pair of them did the Live 8 thing. I have it on DVD and a cd for the car. Brilliant.

Easy one! Gilmour everytime! Just go to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1KJKRG4ZoY and listen from 5.13 - 7.35 (or the whole thing if your patient enough!) and surely that is good enough
reason if needed!

i must confess gilmour is my favourite. the 1994 earls court gig (pulse) is by far the best gig i have ever seen! i watched an interview on tv a while
back and waters was less than happy about gilmour and nick mason touring together but playing waters' songs.

surely an impossible comparison? Waters is a bassist who wrote a number ( ok not all but majority) of great songs that Gilmour was able to sing
admireably and showcase his guitar solos. IMHO comparing floyd live Pulse album then the solo live work of waters/gilmour just highlights that they
needed each other to really shine.

Dire Straits without Knopfler?
Tha Shadows without Hank Marvin?
Peters without Lee?
Keith Harris without Orville?
Not possible
Who would go and see Rogers alternative Floyd ?

Gilmour here too .... saw PF back in 88 without Waters and you wouldn't have known he wasn't there ....
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.
