Scrapheap Challenge is back
Without the Scrapheap!?
Radio Times
quote: Scrapheap Challenge Sunday 30 August
5:25pm - 6:30pm
Channel 4
Dick Strawbridge hosts the engineering challenge series in which teams must create a piece of machinery using junk from a scrapyard.
Dick throws down the gauntlet to three teams, who must build and race chariots at historic Hever castle.
Each team has just four weeks and 450 pounds to build their chariot,
while Dick's Diamonds, comprising of Strawbridge, engineer Jim Milner and guest expert Nikki Wilmore,
have just one week to manufacture their racing vehicle.

It's all gone a bit crap mate, the series is available on the torrent sites, it was aired in Australia first for some reason.
It's gone cheap, really cheap, teams build their contraption at home and meet up for the competition, whoever wins goes against the house team,
with Colonel Dick and his ginger mate.
The first one I watched, one of the teams decided they couldn't afford the fuel to get to the competition, so didn't turn up..
It also seems to show even less of the build than earlier series, at least half the program is taken up with the competition, most of the build it the
teams messing about with camcorders.
And there's no Lisa Rogers

Preferred Cathy Rogers (no relation) to Lisa Rogers TBH, but other than that agree completely. Stopped watching ages ago.
DO NOT PUT ON KNOB OR BOLLOCKS!

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Spot the Warner R4 and I leading the Wheel Nuts in episode 7
I have to admit, the format hasn't really worked - Hoping they find a happy middle ground next series...

The original series was presented by Robert LLewellyn on his own, and it was the same 2 teams every week !
From series 2, Kathy Rogers (the producer) joined him in presenting

Ain't no scrapheap challenge without a scrapheap.

Sounds like that spin off series with the original chick and the rock geezer with the fat neck
that was pretty pants and all.....
