It does all seem amazing though... I mean it wasn't as if they had any hope of winning the championship at that point was there?
What a total waste of time!!!

Certainly looks like the 'crash' had a practice run on the warm-up from what I can see?

It does look like a waste (of a car) from one point of view, but, Renault and their sponsors got pleny of television time, plus doesn't this
mean they get a bigger slice of the divying up that gets done at the end of each season?

I think it's time to unleash the beast... less rules, regs and restrictions.
Let's get the crazy privateers and innovators back into the sport to race their 6-wheel super-mega-turbo charged cars with underside fans and
tiered wings!
Let espionage and team tactics be the norm - every man for himself!
Transparently filthy and proudly so... that's the only way forward for me!

Notice the expression on Piquet's face at the end on the pit wall, he does not look to happy does he!! Giving Flavio a bit a look

There is actually tape Flavio was on the pit wall showing his reaction when Piquet crashed out --- put it this way Flavio was not best pleased he
swore several times.
An engineer to the core Pat Symonds was one of the most likeable and down to earth guys in F1.
What this is all about is Mosley lashing out at everybody who got in his way.
Worth reading what Jackie Stewart said in an Autosport Interview dated 14/09/09

Flavio's 'outburst' was laughable. Poorly scripted and delivered a la Keanu Reeves school of acting! He was playing for the
recorder!
It doesn't matter how nice Pat Symonds is - he and Flav have been caught up in a race-fixing scandal that was pretty damn dangerous and which
had a significant bearing on the outcome of the world championship!
Time for them to take their medicine and vamoosh!

It's time to change Formula 1.
It's easy!!
Get rid of telemetry. This will save 50 peoples wages, transport, accomodation, perks, and the cost of all the electronics.
Simple?
