Garage door seal
What do people recommend for sealing that ¼” gap between the bottom of a garage door and a concrete floor, the commercially available seals bond to
the concrete floor so its only a matter of time before I drag something through it. I want something that I can attach to the up and over door, was
thinking brush seal but I cant see it stopping water trying to come in when the heavens open.

I put a thick bead of sealant on the bottom of the door then a strip of polythene over it, shut the door so it squeezed out then peeled the polythene
off when it had set and trimmed it up. Certainly stops the rain blowing under as much.

For a few quid on Screwfix you can buy a kit with a rubber strip.
You're never gonna create a fully watertight seal... but it'll help!

do what i did and simply put a piece of wood along the bottom, then get a small bag of water proof fast setting cement. Then from the inside of the
garage out to the wood make a shallow ramp so once the woods removed there is a small step (15mm is fine) that is just behind the back of the door.
That will stop any rain entering.

My garage door is a metal one and it has a central slot in the botton which i fitted a length of hose pipe in to form a seal with the floor, it works
well and cheap too.

I actually cast a door recess into the floor of the garage to stop this. My door also has an integral weatherstrip.
The last garage I had was terrible for water coming in. it was built on a downslope so when it rained the water just ran down the drive and under the
door. I dug a catch drain right across the width of the drive in the end. That sorted it.

I have a sectional door which has a rubber 'bumper' along the bottom and rubber strips up the side. When its closed it keeps the weather
out and you can't even see the light from outside.

I did it locost style!
Stuck some gaffa tape along the whole length - 50% on the garage, 50% off. I then got some more gaffa tape and stuck that on the sticky bit and folded
it over so it was on the back of the original tape (the black side).
This then drags onto the floor each time the door is closed.
