Thermal gas stove fans

I have a gas fired log type stove which gives us secondary heating along side the central heating. It sits in an inglenook fireplace and I would like to put more heat into the room. I have seen thermal driven fans but cost £95 upwards and I am told that they are not that effective, obviously it's too hot to put a normal fan behind it, so over to you any ideas?
