I wish I could stay at home tomorrow...
I have to hope that my flight from Copenhagen to London City Airport tomorrow afternoon doesn't get cancelled (City airport was closed earlier
this evening), then I have to hope that my booked transport can get me home to halfway between Colchester and Ipswich...
...and the business trip was a total waste of my time, too! Trying to test software with a Danish bloke & a Ukranian girl - it's like being
stuck between the swedish chef and a female meerkat!
And my hotel room isn't very warm either, probably due to the strong north-easterly wind blowing briskly against the window at around -7 degrees
C.
You can just tell that I'm really pleased to be here, can't you...

dry roads, not a single sign of snow here
heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it breaks, hit them with it

We've had a total of 18 inches or so of snow now.
Here's how it was this morning.
30th Nov snow before
When you consider the temperatures we're about to get in the next few days, this wasn't going anywhere soon.
So, myself plus 4 neighbours got stuck in. Sound people, every single one of them, looked out the window, saw a bit of work going on and got out and
joined in.
Job done.
30th Nov snow after 1
Another view - all done with shovels, no snow ploughs or anything else.
30th Nov snow after 2
It's one of those great moments when neighbours get together and just do something. We probably won't speak again for months, that's
just how it is.

We had about an inch this morning, then it all melted by 1pm. Now we have about 2 inches and its still snowing!
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

I am not going to work tomorrow either... I retired in March
It doesnt snow much here in Cambridge.
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

I cleaned the car off and went out this afternoon and there's about another 6" on top of it now
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

In the interests of rounding my contribution to this thread off.
It's snowed sufficently hard overnight that we may as well not have bothered.
And no, we didn't have a snowball fight. They're nice people, but a snowball fight was never on.

leeds is about 8 or 9, i think about 4 of that came today.
It always amuses me how many employed people have the day off, and how so many self employed people get themselves in to a job! I suppose it
couldnt be any other way, if i dont work i dont get paid, so come hell or high water, i'll get to a job even if i end up crawling.
I have concluded the jeep is totally unstoppable. I went looking for bad hills and didnt find anything remotely capable of stopping it!
I wont be happy until there is 8 foot of snow, then i would admit defeat. And go sledging

It's 2ft deep in our back garden and up the side of the house when I opened the back gate it was waist deep. We dug ours out and the next doors.
I went up to the shop for some sugar and it looks like it's been stripped by locusts, everybody has been panic buying bread, milk and
vegetables.

Pfft, jessies. I've driven in deeper.
I suppose any more than 8 inches (especially if it's all come down at once) is fair dos
What I'd like to know is how a country that's about 300 miles from the artic circle can be caught out by cold weather YEAR AFTER YEAR?
