Who else is at work today?

I have come in but am only open for emergencies with my parents vans.

I know its not as much as you lot up north but its more snow than i have ever seen in Eastbourne. We normally dont have anything!!!

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Me too, but there's no reason not to, it's over 25 degrees and never snows here! There's nowhere quite like Saigon for Christmas!

Me. Never taken the day off for the weather yet. Not in work = not open = not earning. Wish I could get hold of snow tyres though as I could sell dozens of them. I'm sick of mopping out the workshop of melting snow from cars. We sweep as much off as we can but there's still gallons of water on the floor.

Me. It's warmed up to around freezing and there are some icy roads but we've still only had a total of around 5mm of powder to date.

Me - at home where I normally work so no excuse not to

Went out to clear the paths and cars first thing and lobbed a few snowballs at the neighbour as he was heading off to work - he's not the most jovial chap in the world though

Me too - I start at 11 today - I teach driving.

If my learners can drive in this stuff then there is no reason for folk to have problems. OK its pretty flat here so not so many hills to contend with and there is only about 18 inches of the stuff. But hey we still still lots of folk struggling here (South London/North Kent)

Does amaze me how little some folk know about driving in this. Prize comment last year in the snow. First time driver on very snowy side roads said to his dad. - "what's the problem - how come you can't drive in this ?"

Simple - dad drives auto BMW on "hard" runflats and with not a clue how to use anything but "D" with losts of gas !! - learner did not go over 15 mph.

Thats what i am doing at the moment. I thought it would be a good idea to replace the tintop tyres with just over 2mm tread on them for something a little grippier but keep slipping on the floor

I have had to order winter tyres for my dads vans only to be told they were the last set they had in till next year!!! Apparently they order 95000 of them in various sizes and once they are gone, they are gone!

Me.
Here in Peterborough its more 'a bit wet' than snowy.
Ice on the minor roads is the biggest concern

Im in today. couldnt get in yesterday though. I made a big snow plough for one of our Fork trucks, and went around our big yard clearing out the arease we need to be in. Since then 2 of our neighbouring companies have borrowed the plough to clear their yards

whilst driving around all i could think of was this:
