Cool! But how well does it bicycle if you know what I mean? I had a cheapo small wheel bike once and it was the pits!
You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a
chainsaw

not got one, but I know a few people who have them amongst there massive bike collections......
I can ask if there is anything you want to know about them?
(may take a while, these people don't do com-pu-ters  )

As per Mr V8 Kid's post above, I'm curious as to how they ride.
I want one because me and two workmates are about to start car sharing.
Two weeks out of three, I'm going to cycle the 3 or so miles to their places, then 20 miles down the motorway car sharing.
A Brompton or similar to chuck into the boot seems like the thing.

I have one. It is OK. don't skimp on the 3 speed like I did. 1st is too tall for steep hills and the gaps between speeds are huge. The
aluminium handlebars are a bit flobery and the front geometry a bit twitchy at speed. That said, it is dead handy jsut to stick in the boot or carry
on a bus. Mine hardly gets any use now, as in not since my son was born 2 1/2 years ago. What do they fetch these days?

I built a recumbent out of an old BMX and Mountain bike a long time ago - and as these kind of things go you tend to meet intereting people doing
similar things when you get spotted on one or get taking to people about it
I ended up meeting up with this really groovy chap - basically was knocking recumbents out at home made from old bikes
and I can't remember if it was him or one of the others that we met along the way who built a recumbent out of a Moulton
and called it a "re-mo(u)lten"
Best folding pedal machine I ever saw was a folding recumbent trike made by a chap in Scotland somehere
Dunno what ever happened to it, but it was truly something to behold, no bigger than a suitcase when folded and oily bits all facing inwards IIRC so
train travel or whatever was not an issue
I'm sure I have some photo's of it somewhere as I know I looked into trying to copy the designs and build similar
I'm too lazy and unfit now and prefer petol power these days so lost touch

An average minimum seems to be around £450 on ebay.
The odd one comes up for sale a bit under that, but not very often.

I bought a pair of Chinese folders from bicycles4u.com. They are not Brompton or Dahon quality but they do the job. Get a 20" wheel if you want
to go anywhere remotely rough. We take ours camping and have ridden miles on canal towpaths without any problems apart from punctures. As long as you
check them over occasionally for nuts coming loose they are fine for normal use. The front is twitchy on any small wheel bike with a bendy join in it.
These are a 5 speed derailleur set up and are easy to ride and fairly comfortable for me and my wife, I'm just under 6' and she's
5' 4".

There's a dahon finishing on ebay in 5 minutes £250 bin Dahon d7 speed folding bike. mint con. hardley used on eBay (end time
19-Jan-11 20:35:33 GMT) . These are quality.
