brake master cylinder help

Hi ya

My brake master cylinder has given up the ghost. Can some one help me identify what it is off.

The number on the side is

Girling 74660294 . 2 . 0338

I will try to get some pics over the week end but if the number helps then that would be great..

Many thanks

Davrus

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

74660294 is the mcyl casting part #. Could be used on a range of Girling mcyls. Is there a coloured plastic ID band on your mcyl? What colour is it? And what number stamped thereon?

Have checked some old Girling manuals. If your mcyl has 20.6mm bore, it may have been fitted to either Mk4/5 Cortina, or Series 3 Capri. If bore = 19.0mm it will be from one of the earlier Fiesta/Escort models.
