what's the story with e-tickets? can u safely transfer them
My girlfriend and I are meant to be going to a small (500 tickets) club with some mates Sat night in London, foolishly we left it 2 days too late to
get tickets and they sold out!
Our friends are more sensible and got theirs... but now dont want to go without us.
We put various requests on the club forum/Facebook page and a guy has got back to us saying he has two for sale. However, they are e-tickets.
I *think* this means that (assuming you've bought them directly) u get sent a barcode picture to your mobile, this can then be scanned by a
barcode reader on arrival at the club.
My concern is that if he's just 'forwarding' a picture of a barcode on to us, we have no idea that he's not going to do the
same to lots of other people and we're gonna rock up there, queue to get in, then look like nerks if we're not the first people who happen
to get there!
Or have I misunderstood how e-tickets work? Are they 'unique' in some way- like an actual paper ticket would be.
These tickets are £27 a pop so don't want to get ripped off for £54 plus cost of trains/cabs to the club which I may not get into!
Cheers,
James

I can't help with the E ticket issue but have you tried any record shops in the area of the venue?
Generally these will have tickets when no one else does and most will put them aside for you.

I was on the phone to the only reseller on Tuesday AM! They'd sold out a week ago!
I contacted the venue and they said that tickets were officially non-transferable. But that what we did that they didn't know about, they
didn't care! She told me to check their facebook page. This is where the offer has come from.
You'd think they'd just want the place full so would be happy for people to sell on spare tickets- I guess not.
Cheers,
James

they want them to be returned to them for a refund (minus a small fee) then they re-sell them at full price to the first person that asks....

James, I've bought e-tickets off ebay a few times no problem, BUT you can destroy the sellers reputation with a negative feedback so
they've always been ok. If he sells them to more than one person then only the first person in will be able to use them.
Yes, they are unique with the barcode, that's how they work.
If it were me I would buy them and get to the venue early and be one of the first in, then you've got no problem - mind you with your reputation
on punctuality I don't know if that's realistic!! I always print out e-tickets though, never trust the mobile just incase battery runs out
or the ticket desk are being arses and want to see a proper ticket.
What you going to see? Some heavy metal night is it? We're off to Dylan Moran tomorrow night followed by some serious DnB with Andy C - yeehah
