We ride at noon!
Good evening everybody!
Further to my previous posts, our 24 hour, 240 mile bicycle ride commences tomorrow
at midday in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
Two uni friends and I are setting off from the Clarendon Hotel in Central London, cycling to Dover then resuming our journey in the small hours of the
morning through Northern France and into Belgium. We'll be covering 240 miles on tarmac, hopefully getting into Brussels by 1pm local time on
Saturday.
We managed to reach our £3600 sponsorship target thanks to a lot of generous people, including many locostbuilders - I really appreciate your
donations, especially since most of you guys have never met me! You can still donate quickly and easily
here.
We've just set up a Twitter account, where you can follow our epic bike ride If you have twitter, please follow us
London2Brussels twitter
We'll update it as often as we can, providing we've not fallen off!

Good luck!
How's the training been going? I've finally managed to make a donation. My computer kept locking me out when I tried but I've done
an upgrade this week and it worked tonight.

Hi Adrian,
Thanks for donating! I really appreciate it
Training was going ok, but probably not enough before the ride (is it ever?). I did the bike ride on Friday, got into Grand Place about 3pm ish local
time, so didn't make it in time unfortunately, but we three still did the 240 miles (actually ended up being 246).
I'm just about recovered, and thinking about upgrades for my bike - carbon seatpost, handlebars perhaps and I desperately need some SPDs, I was
the only one of 30 people with toe clips.

Just put a new post about the ride in the non-car chat section - the reason we didn't make it was because the ferry was late, and the group we
were in (the medium pace one) had to wait for the slowest group to catch up on every stage, so I think we would have made it otherwise!
Hehe yeh i think I am hooked a bit , I definitely have upgradeitis!
