well, she won't lose any sleep over it.
leave a note stuck to your door, thats what we've done for years, all couriers leave them behind a big plant pot if no one's in now.
address it toi city link, and sign it, that way he can take it back to the depot if needed.

If your stuck I can collect it from the depot (presume it's glenrothes) and meet you somewhere in between, or if the weather is good and
it's a small package I can run it up on the bike.

He'll keep your parcel, have whatever is inside and then hand in your note for proof that it was left at your house.

never happened to me! because the drivers know that when it doesn't get delivered, you'll complain to the company, they say there was a
note, you say it still never turned up, and then the finger is pointed at the driver.

I recently ordered some bits and had them delivered to work. However, the bits never turned up so I chased the company who gave me the courier
details. They got hold of the delivery driver who said he'd knocked on the door but there was no answer so he'd left a card and taken the
parcel back and attempted a delivery the next day. As there was no answer the next day he'd reurned it to the depot.....
No answer and he'd knocked on the door? I work at a military installation that is manned 24/7. There is a police post on the approach road and
another at the main gate. The place is crawling with armed MOD Plod and the driver wouldn't have got anywhere near a door without looking up the
pointy end of several guns......and had a couple of police dogs hanging off his arse.
He stood by his story but managed to deliver it the next day without any problems! If I was synical, I would say it's because I work in the
middle of nowhere and he didn't want to be home late.

As above, try leaving a note on the door, We keep that note on the door 24/7 and haven't had many undelivered parcels since.

Does seem unreasonable that they won't deliver it to there own depot that's closer to you to collect it.
I try to avoid having thing delivered because I always get the same problems, basically we can only come when your out or asleep is the usual
situation so I have to have two days off to guarantee I'll be here and awake (I work nights).
If you continue to have problems sometimes you can get things delivered to a local post office for collection.
