HTC Unlocking?

Thinking of buying a wildfire.

How easy is it to unlock these things? Asda have a nice deal on a Vodaphone PAYG but I want it for my Tesco/T-mobile sim.

Both these unlock code suppliers have a good feed back http://www.htcsimunlock.com/ or http://www.HTCCode.com

Go to the Vodafone website If you sign up with Vodafone for 24 months at £13 per month the phone is free --- from recently looking at phone plans Vodafone looks a much better option for mobile data.

However the best provider for mobile internet is 3

However look at the Orange shop they have just introduced more Orange branded Android phones that are exceptional value and have more on the way.
http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/pay-as-you-go.

Also I have a spare still in sealed box Orange San Francisco which I could supply unlock for a very considerably less than the Orange shop or Argos price.

get the orange sanfrancisco its much better than the wild fire (almost as good as the htc desire). all you need to do then is load a custom rom onto it and its unlocked.

I've got a wildfire - its not fast enough and the screen is too low res. As above go for the san francisco or desire.

I'd go for the suggestions above, Desire or San Francisco ( I have both) The San Francisco (or ZTE Blade) is unlockable in seconds for free, mine's running a Swedish 2.2 ROM, very stable and quick. My desire was unlocked at HTCsimunlock (the link above) cost me £20, it was then rooted and a 2.3 gingerbread ROM installed. Loving that one .

There's a benchmark app called Quadrant. Both phones give good results but the HTC Wildfire won't even run it!!

BTW if you need Flash in your browser, get the Desire. The San Francisco isn't supported even though it's more than capable.

As well as my spare San Francisco we have two in the family that we actually use one runs debranded Orange Android 2.1 the other Swedish Spring Android 2.2 Froyo, in use it is impossible to tell them apart if flashing another I would just stick with debrandedd 2.1 as I think it is marginally more stable.

If the OP still wants a basic Wildfire PC World are doing a Wildfire on T Mobile for the same price (£139 with free delivery) as Asda.

However be aware Quick Tap contactless payment technology is about to sweep its' way through the smart phone world. this time next year I reckon we will all want to be using Quick Tap.

I have a Wildfire and have unlocked it by following a tutorial at XDA developers. Looking back it was easier than I expected.
