I love out new recycle wheelie bin
Having just had the BBQ to end all BBQ's it wasn't to bad wheeling the bin around the garden chucking all the MT's in, much easier,
thankyou Mr council man.

Wiltshire have decided to phase out weekly collections here in Salisbury. In a not so subtle bribe....They're now offering everyone a free
wheelie bin for garden waste!
Quite looking forward to getting mine - in an equally sad way, I'm looking forward to doing the grass and just wheeling that behind me and not
having to hide the grass cuttings over the fence!

Yep we have a maroon bin, a cream bin, a green bin and a black bin. That's nearly as big as my house so I only keep the normal black one and
green garden waste one.

Yup but there are 4 houses off our road and cos its not adopted the council will not come up to collect so all the bins are at the bottom.
Looks like the starting grid of a wheelie bin race
And that's the only service the council provides for me costing £2k a year in rates and they foul it up - Typical!
You'd be surprised how quickly the sales people at B&Q try and assist you after ignoring you for the past 15 minutes when you try and start a
chainsaw

We have 2 wheelie bins and a stack of boxes for plastic, glass, metal, cardboard etc.
Total PITA to manage and store - I'm currently developing the side garden of my house into a utility space to house all these things neatly.
Boxes are a real pain because the always get blown over in the wind, and since we're at the end of a cul de sac, we get everyones recycling in
our garden.
Still, it's amuses me to play the game of 'guess who the hemeroid cream package belongs to'

Our new bin is burgundy On bin day with our house and the two next door you can't get out as there are 6 bins like a barricade at the end of
the path.

Same here, to the point where we refuse to reycle glass. Missus is getting annoyed with it all enough to the point she's going to not bother,
and I don't on the basis that I've seen what traffic's like in LA, all them SUVs and great big cars sitting in lines 5 wide going
2mph and lucky to get 25mpg.. And here's me washing out a yoghurt pot in order to "do our little bit"
Makes me feel pathetic

Don't be fooled in to thinking that the recycling push is driven out of greenliness (my new word), the major benefit of recycling is money
saving for your local council.
Each and every council must pay £55 to the EU for every tonne of waste which is dumped in land fill, so the more you put to land fill the less there
will be in the pot for anything else such as schools, teachers, amenities road repairs.
Fife which is a small county saved £5 million in the last 2 years through increased recycling.

And how much extra do the council make from selling the tin cans bottles etc.? Our council tax always goes up by the maximum they can get away with
and our bin collection services get worse with bins and boxes cluttering up the front of everyone's houses.

What's your point? The cost of living increases affect the council budgets too.
If you don't recycle your council tax will increasse even more or services will be cut. It's your choice.
I don't work for the council BTW.

I suppose they could spend it wisely, instead of, oh I don't know urinating away 2 thousand pounds on wrapping trees...
On the other hand we got all these prisoners and community service people, why can't they sort it out? Also there are automatic sorters now, far
better spent than changing a junction to a roundabout and back again, or putting traffic lights on a junction so now you stop 60mph traffic in order
to let the one guy out who couldn't go the other way (and come out 1/4 mile further down)
I wonder if other councils treat money like they're allergic to it?
