OT Building Regs
I'm about to convert my loft and have been told that around the chimney I cannot have the studs touching it. I've been looking though
this page of building regs and cannot find what
I'm looking for.
I need to know how far away from the chimney I have to have the studs or can they go directly up against the chimney.
The chimney is a mixture of block and eng brick near the top.
I hope I get the right answer from you lot.
Cheers Steve

Have you spoken to your building inspertor ? He will be able to give you the answer you need. You should be able to use timber around the chimmney
stack,as long as there is no leeks in the stack....You could always dot & dab the stack. I am a joiner by trade.Alway ask the building
inspector,he shouldnt charge you. Good luck mate.
