careful of this ebay scam
just had this email it is a scam so DO NOT OPEN THE LINK if you get the same all the best paul
Dear eBay Account holder,
Periodically eBay checks a number of accounts for validity and information's of account holder, if they are used or inactive or if they
make illicit activities. This process is made once a month or whenever the number or inactive users is raised.
This weak over 150.000 accounts are checked and yours is one of them. If this is a issue we
apologies for it, but this is necessary in order to make secure transactions payments and sales eBay servers must work properly in order to assist
you. If the number of inactive users rises you will not be able to conduct your activity propriety and that's a concern for us.
The verification is simple follow this steps:
- You login to https://www.ebay.com by clicking this link or the link listed at the bottom of this mail.
- Press "Sign In" button on eBay main page and login to your account.
- Complete the form where your name, your home address, your phone, and other personal
information's are required.
- If all information's are in order your verifications will not take between a few minutes and several hours.
- You will receive a second email with your account activity and the confirmation of this verification.
If you don't respond to this problem in 24h your account will be suspended for an undetermined period and you will not be able to sell or
to buy anything, or if you have active transactions they will be suspended to until you respond to this problem.

What always gets me is the standard of english used in these scam messages. There are a number of mistakes in that message which, if I was faced with
it would lead me to assume it was fake.

Absolutely the bit "information's of account holder, if they are used or inactive or if they make illicit activities" is a give
away. Ebay may be rubbish at customer services but their grammar isn't that bad.

A genuine message from ebay will address you by name not as 'account holder'.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

Yeah, problem is by the time we're old we're going to have several arguments on that basis..
"Of course I flaming well ignored it, it looks like it was written by a scammer! We 'apologies'? Come on!"
