What an absolute effin farce this is turning into. I totally support the eviction but you have to ask at what cost eventually.

£18 Million (not counting the value of all the gear the have 'aquired' since they have been there), according to a local Council
spokes-person.
If they are travellers, why aren't they travelling?
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

Yep - Its all about human rights you know....
Obviously only applies to those unlawfully living there, the residents who pay through there noses in council tax have no rights at all.
If they arent evicted, it sends out a massive message to the other such communities living unlawfully - stay put ! Please yourself!
And nobody can do a damn thing about them...
Minority rules - Thank you New Labour

Also sends out a message, sets a precedent, for developers to do what they where they want.
Two fingers in a V, up to the law.
Gotta feel for the landowners who are adjacent to this lot.
NIMBY...for sure!
Cheers,
Nev.

I am waiting for the outcome of this......
There's 25 acres of farm land up for grabs near Braintree, could VE a good earner and I could build a massive house on the land I don't
sell to the pikies, all I have to dois attach a couple of caravan wheels to 2 sides and I'm safe for atleast 10 years.
I eat to survive
I drink to forget
I breath to pi55 my ex wife off (and now my ex partner)

My thoughts exactly, im sick of hearing em whining on about the traveller lifestyle, they live on a site similar to all the ones Haven own up and down
the country.... without the need to pay 2.5k a year in ground rent, they make my knackers ache

Here's a direct quote from one of the "travellers".
"We have no quarrels with the settled community. If they want to protest against us they can," she said.
"We want to stay for another 30 years. We want to do what is legal and right."
Whhooaaaahhh there ?
You have no quarrel with the "settled" community, and you yourself want to stay there "for another 30 years" ?
Make your f**in' mind up !!
Are you a traveller or are you staying put ?
If you're staying put for 30 years, build a sodding house.
If you're a traveller, then **** off !!

Indeed, I'm keeping tabs on this so I can build an extension. If they demand I take it down I cry racism...
Could have been sorted out with about £50 worth of petrol I reckon

It is just another example of how we are mired in bureaucracy, we cannot even cross the road without a £10m inquiry.
We has a case recently when a chap was knocked off his bicycle on the A30, he was hurt, a broken leg and several ribs, but the police shut the road
for 10 hours while they investigated. Years ago, the road would have been open in 3 minutes.
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
