Virgin Media Tivo box

My DVD / PVR is knackered, thanks largely to the youngest in our household. There's stuff on the hard disc that we want to keep but can't record onto DVD as the DVD bit is broken. We're thinking of getting a Tivo box from Virgin because at £3.00 a month its cheaper than buying something. Can we record onto the Tivo box via Scart so we can take stuff off the old box before binning it?

Sometimes you can take the hard disk out and plug it into a PC....

Yep, that's your best option, although it does not work on all PVR hard drives.

I had a TiVo box a few months back and love it! My Mrs is not so keen and liked the interface of the old V+ box. Once you've figured your way around the strange Yankee style menus (right to enter, left to exit) it's ok!
