I have a Bahco Pistol Ratchet Screwdriver and bit set...

I've been giving it serious abuse for a couple of years now and have yet to break it!

Teng tools screwdriver set; I've used mine as chisels with a 3lb hammer, put mole grips on them for additional torque, used as mini pry-bars etc... my set will be twelve years old later this month and I have only had the large flat head replaced, and yes that was from abusing the hell out of it, to the extent that the domed top of the handle was flat from hitting it with a hammer and it was replaced without any issue.

I have a decent set of Teng ones. But I don't use them now.
I much prefer a nice bit holder (I have a Britool branded one) and have a selection of Wera bits in the handle.
These bits have outperformed the Teng screwdrivers time and time again, much cheaper, you can replace them as and when, swap them into a drill driver etc.

ETA: also you can pick up very cheap Wera bits from Screwfix and Toolstation

I'm finding that anything better than a cheapo set are fine, but the screw heads appear to be made of plastic these days (I've managed to round the head on one this week before it even got all the way in...)

My local Lidl have some sets in at the moment for very little money - about £6 ish I think. Their hand tools are generally very good.

Halfords Pro are good. I have a Pro socket set.

HOWEVER>>>> KEEP THE RECIEPT SAFELY, THEY WONT HONOUR THE LIFETIME GUARANTEE WITHOUT THE RECIEPT.

Sorry for the CAPS, but they are very hard and fast about this, I had to argue loudly on a Saturday morning to ge them to do anything, they didnt replace both items, but did and reluctantly so, give me a ratchet repair kit for the 1/4" and 3/8" handle that I had.
Their arguement was I didnt hav the reciept.
My arguement was, that the handles were clearly Halfords Pro tools. It didnt wash with them.

So KEEP the RECIEPT, or you are stuffed.

Used mine a year now, still are absolutely fine. Cost around £25

I cannot justify spending megabucks on tools, if I were in the trade then a different story.

Snap on for me but I use them as screw drivers and not as pry-bars or chissels. I have Teng in my scrap yard tool box and do miss use these and they are still fine.

I love snap on but, these days its just a name and they cut quality and badge engineer the same as any one elts.

Re snap on, I know for certain the irwin supply a fair bit of their stuff these days (happen to know a chap who has snap on as his account.................)
I suspect it is largely th esame story for most of their stuff now.
