Emissions

How would an L reg car be tested emission wise if it had an engine from a F reg car in it ?

Does it go on the car age or the engine age ?

No guesses or anyones hypotheses please...

Thanks

James

Hi For SVA its tested on the age of the engine which you have to prove or it will be tested on the current emmisions levels.

For the MOT its tested on the age of the registration plate. If its Q plated then it is tested on the lower emmisions test (Smoke test) because the engine is of unknown origin as per the rest of the car.

I'm sure I've got one, just don't know where I've put it
