Ebay users again -- Argghh

So I had an auction on Buy it now or best offer. Sat there for a few days and then got an offer for £210 - I accepted the offer and after 3 days have heard nothing at all.

Sent numerous emails and invoice requests - If they dont want it why dont they just say. Cos at the moment it has cost me over £20 in fees and I cant raise a dispute until tomorrow. I wanted the thing done and sold this weekend

And after all this I wont even be able to negative them !!!!!

I do have their Phone number which I spose I could call them and see what they say, but I fear that may just turn into a slanging match.

Three days and you can't waot until tomorrow?
Annoying, yes, but you'll have to accept that a lot of Ebayers are pillocks and adjust your thinking accordingly.

Had the same last week, bloke put an offer in on my bike, I accept, he then says he's having issues with Paypal and won't be a let to pay for 10 days so we end up canceling the sale. in the meantime I was nosing at the guys feedback and on the same day he'd bought some xbox games and miraculously managed to pay with Paypal!

There are too many people like this now nobbing things up on Ebay, I think its about time Ebay got tougher with them.

Ebay used to be superb but its gotten to big and commercial now and the fees are huge. Unfortunately its the best way to get your stuff to a huge audience

Looking at it from the other side, 3 days is hardly a long time, some people don't check emails on a daily basis,
they could be away on holiday or maybe their computer crashed etc etc etc...... I wouldn't be getting your knickers in a twist just yet Drop them a polite text if its a mobile number, or just ring them, at least then you will know either way.

+1. If its a 10 day listing, they might think they have some time. They could be away with family or camping over the weekend. In a worst case scenario, they could have had an ilness or something more sinister, which of course, leaves you at the bottom of the list of people to call.

However, if it does come up with a non-paying strike then youll get your money back through the dispute resolution process though i would exhaust everything else before doing this. If youve got their number, i would try and call that before getting the hump. If it is the latter point above, then it will be a quick process as i doubt they will want to mess around if they have other things to worry about.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Ebay rules give the purchaser seven days to pay, regardless of what you put in your listing. ie; 'must pay within three days'.
I do however agree, that some contact should be made after the auction ends. Just common decency.

Yup...there are plenty of eeejits out there using eBay - but tread with caution

We sold a pram on there a few days ago (for pence)- "Coglett" has somehow gained 5 of the blighters over the 7 months since he popped out- and he can only ride in 1 at a time so we decided to remove the most redundant from his "fleet"- the one he had got to big for- buyer was literally round the corner from us 2 mins walking distance so we assumed it would be an easy drama free sale - with the bonus we gain room in the hall and one less choice to make when taking him out

They said they would be round Friday eve to collect...great...however no-one turned up and no email or phone call

Mrs got a bit narked at the no show & no contact and sent another email that evening stating Saturday would be OK with us (if they were still interested and that I would be available to give a demonstration of how it all worked)
Even suggested we could walk it round at a time to suit them

No reply by tea time...(despite almost wearing out the F5 key) she /was/ going to compose a snotty email thanking them for wasting our time (thankfully I don't think she sent it)

Anyway later in the evening on Saturday she got an email from the bloke- apologising for the no show/no contact - his mrs had miscarried on Friday during the day so they were "a bit pre occupied" and eBay winnings was the last thing on their mind

Perspective....much

Ring your bloke if you have his number and need to wrap the deal up or know its not happening
Just dont judge till you know the full story

Regards
Rob

i once sold something and the guy who bought it didn't pay after the end of the auction. He wanted to wait for a week to get paid from work.

When he did pay, i send it a week later. Ebay lets them pay within a week, but sellers should be given the oportunity to send it late as well.

Cheers guys,

All good perspectives there. I will wait until tomorrow evening and then call them.
