spring time art work, ideas needed?

Hi all,
my daughter has to do some artwork for an exhibition being held locally, it's quite a big deal, lots of wealthy people will be there buying the art.
now, the subject is "spring time", lots of other students are doing flowers or lambs or rabbits etc but i reckon she needs to come up with some ideas that are a bit more out-of-the-box so lets here some suggestions from you lot.
Cheers.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Birds building nests, a collection of coil or leaf springs ( edit bit, how about some leaf springs coming out of the ground to varying amounts signifying the new growth of spring metaphorically).

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Coil springs poking out of the soil with watches budding off them (a la Salvador Dali).

Abstract spring colours and the 4 seasons. leaves lots of room to make it your own and not too technical.

I like paintings that provoke thought and have wide interpretation not ones that direct my thoughts and narrow to a theme.
