Any electric shower experts?
Just got home for a quick shower before going out, 19yr old son tells me the shower just made a strange noise then water started gushing down the wall
! After the initial panic of thinking water was running down the walls (he would have no idea how or even if he should consider turning mains off) I
found all was well. Stripped the cover off and found nothing amiss on any connections and inside unit was dry?. Connected everything back up and
switched it on, found that the water is coming from an outlet to the left of the shower hose, this seems to be on a t-piece, like an overflow or
something? Any ideas folks, dont fancy the whole weekend without a shower. Triton T100XR, dont think it is a year old yet, hunting for the
book......
Thx in advance
Bill

Hi Bill
I'm no expert but it sounds like the pressure release device has triggered. It's usually only a rubber ball in a pipe which pushes out
when the unit is overpressurised by a blockage or the wrong type of shower head being fitted. It can usually be popped back in.
Does your shower head need descaling?

Neil, sounds on the right track, son now tells me a rubber ball shot out and bounced on the floor. Amazingly he picked it up and saved it! OK now to
find out how to put it back in ??? Anyone?

For the extra £3 id buy the whole thing, as the whole idea of the ball is once its forced out, the ball AND tube are damaged.

Ran for about 30 seconds.

Of what? that its the cause, and not a sympton of something else?
Ours did exactly the same thing, popped for no obvious reason, (shower was about 2-3 years old), once replaced it was fine and has been for last year
or so.
The only thing I attibuted it to was the hard water that tends to clog our shower head, but that has been pretty much the norm since it was installed.

Yes praps hiding something else, shower not a year old. We do live in a hard water area so de-scaling shower head again.
Also we suffer from low water pressure here. Oh thats a thought...............................
Could be the hosepipe ban we have in our area has suddenly increased water pressure :-)
