HP PSC Printer Cartridges - buy new or refill?

Good day. I have an HP deskjet all-in-one PSC type printer.

Do I fork out for new HP ink cartrigdes or get them refilled? I have never tried the refilling option, is there a loss in quality, any other downsides?? There is a shop near me that will refill empty cartriges, just thought I'd ask you guys before I visit the shop at lunchtime.

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

I've never refilled them but I don't recommend cheap supermarket replacements. They dried out on me so badly I ended up using half the cartridge getting the ink flowing (probably not an issue if you're using it regularly instead of once a month)

I always use Jettec, never had problem, cheaper than oem + more ink.

How much are they to refill/replace?
We do a minimal amount of A4 colour printing so when our inkjet carts last ran out, the bill was £40 for cartidges, we decided to upgrade to this: http://www.ebuyer.com/241755-dell-1250c-colour-laser-printer-210-38075
Comes with their 'small' toner cartridges, which are £30 EACH to replace, the large ones are £50! so we plan to just buy a new printer when the toner runs out!

I've only tried refilled HP cartridges once - and the ink was splattered everywhere inside the mechanism! Took ages to clean up.

Now I buy genuine cartridges on-line, usually the maximum capacity ones, and in dual packs. Whatever you do, don't buy them in PC World! I got a pack of 2 cartridges from a reputable on-line supplier (Amazon, I think) for less than the cost of a single one in PC World.
