Need a favour, SPA Speedo

I bought my car fitted with a SPA digi speedo. It suddenly stopped working recently and i have discovered the little magnetic piece for the sensor to pick up has gone missing
I got intouch with SPA and was told they do not sell them as spares but Demon Tw££ks do, and sure enough it is.... @ nearly £30+vat+postage for a frigging magnet?
So i have found a few places which will supply me a load of magnets for less than a fiver but i need to know how big it is?

So if anybody has one of these Speedo's could you please measure your magnet and let me know?
I have a feeling though at that price this magnet must be something special! and my idea may not work but to save me £30-40 its worth a try

Cheers

You could always ask these guys for a sample when you find out how big you need it.

ABEL MAGNETS

Hope it helps!

I'd stick a fridge magnet on to see whether it works or not. It does with Sigma type speedos. You can always take it back off again.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I should think it has to be a little more powerfull than a fridge magnet. i have found several places including Abel Magnets who can supply me with a disc shaped magnet, all i need to know is how big? I'll probably take a guess and get some around 10mm dia and 3-4mm thick.

Thanks

It is 6mm dia. and 3mm thick. Make sure the poles are marked because it needs to be mounted north pole down or it will not work correctley.

Update:-

Had an email back off Demon Tw££ks saying the price for a magnet is £2.86 +vat not the £29+ in the catologue

But still, i can get 10 of them for £4.99 elsewhere which works out at 49p each
