Dont think so...

Though I believe gullible isn't in the Oxford ENGLISH dictionary

The P155 take was the amount of money the parliament building cost.

The channel tunnel went over budget but that was one of the most ambitious engineering projects ever.
How can a sodding building go 10x over budget? On the news they said something like £450,000,000

Dunno, probably something to do with the original budget was completely unrealistic, sadly an attempt was made to pin the blame on the late Donald Dewar, who reagrdless of your politics must be regarded as one of the great Scottish politicians of our time, a man in politics for the good of his country not for the good of his ego.

On a non political front
Who's locost prodject is keeping to budget, mine is going to be well over ten times £250, mony a mikle maks a muckle

As has been the case for nearly all large PUBLICLY-funded projects (Dome, gov. computer projects, roads, hospitals - this goes on endlessly!!). We can only conclude that project estimates are heavily influenced by excessive optimism, insufficient knowledge & experience, plus a fair dollop of political expediency (read - "meddling" ).

Agree about Donald Dewar.

Locost budget ?? On target? Is it ever?

i heard the budget was 10m, with a max of 40m.

these people didnt just go over budget, they went ballistically, stupidly, unbelievably, freakishly, totally, over budget.

and they are supposed to run the affairs of scotland....
