With them wheels it's gotta be either a Maestro or a Montego.

Is the donor part the budweizer can on the front ?
hippy could be right - maestro?
my wife had one once - although a much wee taken car, it was actually quite good as a family car - more room than an escort of the time.
But then anything that replaced the allegro was gonna have a hard time.

I'll have to say maestro, as i've got the handbrake in my car(look about a bit!)
But I don't think his side impact protection will pass SVA.

Looking at the interior shot I would say it has the definite look of a BL product (the greatest manufacturer of joke cars ever known).
The fact that Mr ison has a Marina UJ in his locost, therfore leads me to conclude that it is a marina - seems to have survived in a better state than
many.

You're right - didn't marinas have those allegroesque type door handles?
Could still be a montego or maestro door handle though - I won't let go of the BL theme.

regarding an earlier comment about plastic bumpers and valances:
The montego (I'm sad to say I owned one once) had a steel valance behind the plastic moulding - I suspect most people have never seen one however
'cos it would normally have rotted off in the first few years of use.

The marina had the same handles as fitted to many a Lotus? Small world. The maestro had a steel valance, I think only the higher spec.ie MG got the
plastic overcover.

I had one as a company car and I can say that it was a pretty good car. Certainly no worse than the sierra estate that followed it that seems to be
the core basis of a lot of our cars!
