Sourcing 250mm thick wall tube

Hi all,

Im trying to build a test rig for a work project and we want to source some 250mm OD tube. We would like plastic to keep costs down and looked at underground drainage but the wall thickness seems only about 5mm and we would like 10mm+, its going to take a pounding.

Ali or steel in this size tube will cost a fortune. Especially as we are talking about 3M worth.

Any other areas or particular suppliers to check. I know we can get some custom tube rolled and I know or metal tube but thick wall plastic is what we would like.

Thoughts?

Pretty sure the plastic pipe for the offtakes on the fire mains at work is around 10" diameter and 0.5" thick, fairly sturdy stuff, can't halp as to where it comes from though Think I remember seeing "Class 200 PVC" written on it somewhere.

Thanks for the responses all.

In the end the search for gas pipe lead me to a company that supply 250mm dia pipe with a 12mm wall thickness of it.

£280 later for 5M all is done! I like spending somebody elses money. Bearing carriers and sproket carriers next!!
