Hehe yeah my laptop broke that addiction when I figured that the slow running outweighed my desire to play it

I played Frontier Elite II for hours upon hours. Then I stumbled across a small star system full of insane people. The system was called Cemiss (or
something like that). It was about 70 - 80 light years from the starting point (was that Bernards Star?). The people of Cemiss paid you to take gold
away. They also paid you to take away gems. You could make huge quantities of cash by simply jumping to the next system and jettisoning the cargo
and going back. Ruined the game for me as money was no object.

The Cemiess was a bug on early releases! (I beleive Gametek were forced to release it full of bugs to keep to planned deadlines) it was fixed on later
versions.

Elite on the ZX Spectrum had a great bug whereby if you saved the game before you did anything and then reloaded it, you had virtually every piece of
equipment and enough money to buy anything missed out.

I spent hours playing elite on my dads Archimedes a410 and later acorns. Tbh I'd play the acorn version now, not sure in the MMORPG nature of
the new version though.

I was Elite on a BBC.
Analogue joystick was needed.
Long time ago though.

I preferred a properly weighted trackball to joystick.
Edit:
Like this one, you could be so precise and gentle but also quick movements as well.
